Midwest Builders’ Casualty
maintains the following new business underwriting guidelines:
• Annual premium greater than $5,000
• Experience Modification Rating less than a 1.25
• Must have been in business and have had workers’ compensation coverage for a
period of at least twelve months (this criteria may be waived)
• Must comply with and sign a Loss Prevention/Loss Control agreement
Below is an overview of our Loss Prevention/Loss Control Agreement:
• Maintain a formal loss prevention program, which includes documented weekly
safety meetings
• Maintain a drug/alcohol program including testing after all work
related injuries
• Agreement to use appropriate hiring procedures
• Agreement to control and direct medical treatment of their injured employees
• Agreement to provide light duty return to work to injured employees
• Agreement to report all claims within five days of the injury date
• Agreement to cooperate with all loss prevention and claim recommendations
• Agreement to require/obtain certificates of insurance on all subcontractors
